The short version

  • Quizei is free, and ads pay for it. You can play without an account.
  • You must be at least 13 to create an account.
  • The quizzes you make stay yours. You let us show them on Quizei, and everything you upload must be yours to share.
  • Play fair and treat people well. No cheating, no illegal or hateful content, no harassment. We can remove content and close accounts that break these terms.
  • You're welcome to play Quizei on your streams and in your videos.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them takes away the rights that consumer law gives you.

About these terms

Quizei is the website quizei.com and the Quizei app for iPhone and Android. It is run by Beremo Studios Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16905968) with its registered office at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, Herefordshire, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom. "We", "us" and "our" mean Beremo Studios Ltd.

These terms apply whenever you use Quizei, with or without an account. By using Quizei you agree to them, so please read them. If you don't agree, please don't use Quizei.

How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to the download.

Who can use Quizei

Anyone can play. To create an account, you must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to create an account.

You can't use Quizei if we have closed an account of yours for breaking these terms.

Your account

  • You can sign up with your email address, or with your Google, Apple or X account. Give us accurate details and keep your email address up to date: it's how you get back into your account.
  • Your account is for you alone. Keep your password safe and don't share your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password and tell us at [email protected].
  • Your display name and username must not pretend to be someone else, use someone else's trademark or be offensive. We can ask you to change a name that breaks these rules, or change it ourselves.

Using Quizei

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Quizei for your own, non-commercial purposes, in line with these terms.

You're welcome to play Quizei on live streams and in videos, including monetised ones, and to show the quizzes and your results there. Please don't present Quizei, or quizzes other people made, as your own work.

You must not:

  • cheat, or manipulate scores, leaderboards, votes, ratings or play counts, for example with scripts, bots or extra accounts;
  • collect data from Quizei by automated means, such as scraping or bots, without our written permission (search engines following our robots.txt are fine);
  • get around our security, limits or bot checks, or try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours;
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer our software, except where the law allows it;
  • overload, disrupt or damage Quizei, or spread malware through it;
  • use Quizei to send spam or advertising we haven't agreed to;
  • use Quizei in a way that breaks the law or anyone else's rights.

Your content

"Your content" is everything you create or post on Quizei: quizzes with their titles, questions, answers and images, questions you add to other people's quizzes, comments, ratings, community posts, messages in party rooms and your profile.

Your content stays yours. So that we can run Quizei, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, show, translate and adapt it (for example, resize your images) and to make it available on Quizei, in its apps and on the share pages and cards made from it. You also let us use it to promote Quizei, for example by featuring a quiz on our home page or on social media. This licence ends when your content or your account is deleted, except for copies that stay in backups for a limited time, content other people have already shared, and content we must keep to meet a legal obligation.

Questions you add to someone else's quiz become part of that quiz. Public quizzes, comments and profiles can be seen by anyone, including people who aren't signed in, and can appear in search engines. Unlisted quizzes can be played by anyone who has the link.

You're responsible for your content. By posting it, you confirm that you made it or have permission to use it, including every image, and that it doesn't break these terms or the law. Don't post other people's personal information, or photos of them, without their permission.

Content rules

Quizei is played by people of all ages from many countries. Don't post content, including names and profile pictures, that:

  • is illegal, or encourages crime, terrorism, self-harm or suicide;
  • sexualises children in any way, or is sexually explicit;
  • attacks or demeans people for who they are, such as their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
  • bullies, harasses, threatens or insults anyone, or reveals private information about them;
  • shows extreme violence or gore;
  • infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights;
  • is spam, a scam or misleading, or pretends to be someone else;
  • advertises products or services without our agreement.

Content that doesn't break these rules but isn't suitable for everyone may be kept out of public lists and search.

How we moderate

We review quizzes with automated tools, including AI models, and with people on our team, and we look into what players report. We can't check everything before it appears, and we don't endorse what players create.

If content breaks these terms or the law, or we have good reason to believe it does, we can remove it, hide it from lists and search, or limit who can see it. If an account breaks these terms, especially seriously or repeatedly, we can limit what it can do, suspend it or close it. To stop abuse, we can also block devices and IP addresses.

When we act on your content or account, we tell you why where we can, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. If you think we got it wrong, or an automated check stopped your quiz, write to us at [email protected] and a person on our team will look at it again.

Reporting content

To report a quiz, a comment or a player, use the report option next to it. For anything else, including illegal content and complaints about how we handled a report, use our contact page or write to [email protected].

If you believe something on Quizei infringes your copyright or other rights, send us your name and contact details, a description of your work, the link to where it appears on Quizei, and a statement that you believe in good faith that its use isn't authorised. If the notice is valid, we remove the content or block access to it, and we may let the person who posted it know.

Party rooms and streams

  • The host of a party room chooses the quiz and the settings, and can turn off the chat and remove players. Names and messages in rooms must follow the content rules.
  • When you play on stream, Quizei reads your stream's chat to count your viewers' votes and answers. The streaming platform's own terms apply too, and you're responsible for what your stream shows, including the quizzes you pick.

Ads and paid features

Quizei is free because of advertising. You'll see ads from Google and from advertisers who work with us directly, and some quizzes may be made with or for sponsors, which we make clear.

If we offer paid features, we'll show you what you get, the price and any extra terms before you pay. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are also governed by their terms, including for cancellations and refunds. Your statutory rights as a consumer aren't affected.

Other services

Quizei uses and links to services run by others, such as YouTube videos, Apple Music previews, Apple Maps, the streaming platforms and the services you can sign in with. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for them or for websites that players link to.

Our rights

Quizei's name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors, and these terms don't give you any rights in them apart from the right to use Quizei. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them freely, without owing you anything.

Changes to Quizei

We keep improving Quizei, so features can change, and some can be removed. Quizei may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. We'll try to tell you in advance about changes that affect you significantly.

Ending your use

You can stop using Quizei at any time, and delete your account from your profile settings. We can suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires us to, or if keeping it open would put other people or Quizei at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you first. If your account is closed, the parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (for example the licence for content others have already shared, and the sections on liability and the law) still apply.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Quizei free of charge and as it is. We work to keep it running well, but we don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that what players create is accurate.

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable. Quizei is for personal use, so we're not responsible for any business losses.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaching your statutory rights as a consumer.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim there. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you can bring a claim in its courts.

If you have a problem with Quizei, please write to us first. We'll do our best to sort it out.

Changes to these terms and other details

We may update these terms, for example when Quizei or the law changes. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we also tell you on Quizei or by email before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using Quizei and delete your account.

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if Quizei is sold; your rights won't be reduced as a result. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
